Steve and I were married on July 13th, 2002. When we were first married Steve was a police officer in Gun Barrel City, working the night shift, and I was training horses full time. Steve loved being a police officer, but has always enjoyed training horses, something he did while still in high school working for a mounted patrol officer. Horse training was my passion and what I felt I was destined to do. It didn’t take us long being newly married to decide that we wanted more time together. We discussed, prayed, and sought council about Steve quitting his job and us training horses full time together. Now some people would call us crazy. Most husbands and wives would never want to work together, and I will say we were quite naive about all of the downsides to doing this, but it has been one of the biggest blessings of our lives. I will admit it has also been one of the hardest things at times to do, but I can truly look back and say that as hard as it has been, I would never change that decision. I can’t imagine us not being together as a family. As of right now we’ve been blessed with three wonderful kids, Tristan, Jaycie, and Noah, who are the joy of our lives and truly a gift from God. We own a 60 acre ranch in Kaufman County, where we do horse training for the public, along with clinics, private lessons, occasional expos, and a little bit of competition on the side.
